Description
Deutsch: Friedensmahnmal mit dem schlafenden Hasper Löwen auf dem Platz vor der ev. Kirche in Hagen-Haspe, Frank-/ Ecke Kölner Straße. Ehemaliges Kriegerdenkmal, erschaffen 1871/72 von dem Bildhauer Friedrich Schmidt. 2005 restauriert und neu aufgestellt als Friedensmahnmal. Inschriften: „Die Gemeinden Haspe und Westerbauer ihren in den ruhmreichen Kriegen 1866, 1870/71 fürs Vaterland gestorbenen Söhnen“. – „65 Millionen Opfer der beiden Weltkriege mahnen zum Frieden. Es gibt keinen Weg zum Frieden. Der Friede ist der Weg. Mahatma Gandhi“.
