Rituelle Fußwaschung vor dem Gebet: Diese Aufnahme war für Presse- und Propagandazwecke gedacht, denn sie führt dem Betrachter zwar die Lagersituation hinter Stacheldraht vor Augen. Zugleich gesteht der bewaffnete Militär dem Gefangenen aber die Ausübung seiner religiösen Gebräuche zu, sodass das Foto zur Demonstration der toleranten Behandlung der Kriegsgefangenen im Deutschen Reich dienen konnte.

Ritual foot washing before prayer: This recording was intended for press and propaganda purposes, because it shows the viewer while the storage situation behind barbed wire in mind. At the same time, however, the armed military allows the prisoner to exercise his religious customs, so that the photo could serve as a demonstration of the tolerant treatment of prisoners of war in the German Reich.
