Numerous, very fine, white root hairs on the above-ground stem of a 2-day-old hemp seedling.

Description	Deutsch: Kurzlebige und sehr empfindliche Wurzelhaare spielen eine wichtige Rolle während der Keimungs- und Sämlingsphase einer Hanfpflanze. Je nach Hanf-Sorte und -Genetik sind sie unterschiedlich dicht angeordnet. Sie vergrößern die Oberfläche der Pfahlwurzel, wodurch unterirdisch unter anderem mehr Wasser aufgenommen werden kann. Zugleich helfen sie der Wurzel bei der Durchdringung des Bodens. English: Short living and very sensitive root hairs play an important role during the germination and seedling phase of a hemp plant. Depending on the hemp variety and genetics, they vary in density and length. They increase the surface of the taproot. Among other things, more water can be absorbed underground. At the same time, they help the root to penetrate the soil.
