  • Dansk: Biblioteket på Gottorp Slot; dansk krigsbytte af 1713; indlemmet i Det Kongelige Bibliotek på et ubekendt tidspunkt i første halvdel af 1700-tallet (i 1786 registreret i John Erichsen: Udsigt over den gamle Manuscript-Samling i det store Kgl. Bibliothek, som nr. 369 (lige før Det Grønne florilegium, KKSgb2951); herfra overdraget til KKS i 1835.

Fortløbende nummerering af siderne øverst t.h. med blyant, foretaget af Joachim Frederik Schouw i midten af 1800-tallet. Endvidere har Schouw samtidigt betegnet hver plante med et bogstav.

  • Dansk: Planterne i Gottorfer Codex blev bestemt af Joachim Frederik Schouw i midten af 1800-tallet, men er i årene 2012-13 blevet bestemt på ny af et hold botanikere tilknyttet Statens Naturhistoriske Museum i København: Folmer Arnklit, Signe Frederiksen, Hans V. Hansen, Niels Jacobsen, Lise Bolt Jørgensen, Jette Dahl Møller, Finn N. Rasmussen og Hans Tybjerg.
  • Dansk: Indhold / Kollation: 95 tavler med 263 afbildninger af planter fra haverne på Gottorp Slot nær Slesvig.
  • Dansk: Omslag: Indbundet 1690 i rødbrunt læder med guldsnit samt det gottorpske våben præget i guld. Endvidere forsynet med grønne bindebånd, der stadig ses rester af.
