Description
English: View of Bredestraat during the final procession of the 1976 Pilgrimage of the Relics (Heiligdomsvaart) in Maastricht, Netherlands. The reliquary procession on Sunday 5 September 1976 was the closing ceremony of a 10-day religious festival that is celebrated in Maastricht every seven years and dates back to the Middle Ages. Here the reliquary bust of Saint Servatius is carried by 12 porters of the Guild of Saint Servatius (founded in 1976) and followed by members of the Society of the Grave of Saint Servatius (the organizing committee).
