Description
Deutsch: de:Oberburg Heldenbergen, Ansicht von Nordwesten. Ahnherr Johann Peter von Leonhardi (1747–1830), Frankfurter Bankier, Kaufmann, Politiker und Freimaurer. Ursprünglich stammt seine Familie Leonhard aus Waldeck und nannte sich später Leonhardi´. Er war die 2.Generation in Frankfurt. Er wurde als angesehener Bankier und Ratsherr der Stadt 1794 von Kaiser Leopold II, dem Sohn Kaiserin Maria Theresias, in dessen letztem Regierungsjahr in den Reichsgrafenstand erhoben. 1806 Bauherr der Villa Leonhardi in Frankfurt Westend; Käufer des sog. Leonhardischen Schlosses in Groß-Karben, das heute noch, wie die Oberburg, im Familienbesitz ist. 1886 Kauf der Oberburg durch Fritz von Leonhardi, Großherzoglicher Kammerherr, zunächst als Sommer- und Jagdhaus.
