Description

Marines with Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force - Darwin fire the 81mm mortar system during a crewed-served weapons competition aboard Mount Bundey Training Area, June 19, 2014. The competition was designed to test the Marines' proficiency with various weapons systems including the SMAW, 81mm Mortar and the M240 medium machine-gun. The Marines with MRF-D will conduct independent and bilateral training with the Australian Defence Force aboard existing ADF facilities during the six-month rotation.
