Summary[edit]

Description
English: High Baring, Rosedale East Mine Straddling the grid line these houses were known locally as "Black Houses" and housed the miners of East Rosedale Ironstone Mine. The brick flues can clearly be seen. The cottages were back to back; those at the back had not such a good view. In the foreground are the remains of workshops. The mine was closed during the 1926 strike and officially abandoned on 28th February 1928.
