English: Ahsan Manzil is a very old and historical palace of Bangladesh. It is located on the banks of the Buriganga River, south of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Hundreds of years old history of Dhaka is connected with it. Its founder is Nawab Abdul Ghani. He named it after his son Khwaja Ahsanullah.
Its construction began in 1859 and was completed in 1872. At that time it was used as the residential palace of the Nawabs and Zamindars of Dhaka. Currently it is being used as a museum of Bangladesh. Every day many visitors come to see this old palace.The photo was taken from Kumartuli area of Islampur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. |
