Summary[edit]

Description
English: Horkstow Grange Horkstow Grange is situated on the B1204 mid-way between Horkstow and Saxby All Saints. An old Lincolnshire folk song, The Ballad of Horkstow Grange is about John Bowlin, a foreman at Horkstow Grange Farm and John Steeleye Span, a waggoner under him, the two men fell out and the ballad recounts this argument and its consequences. The famous folk group 'Steeleye Span' took their name from this ballad and released an album called 'Horkstow Grange' in 1998 with a version of the song.
