Description
English: Huskisson Memorial, Liverpool & Manchester Railway William Huskisson MP was killed here on the opening day (15th September 1830) of the Railway when the train he was on stopped for water. The Rocket was passing in the same direction, and he was seriously injured when struck by it. The Memorial tablet is affixed to the base of the water tower.
