Summary[edit]

Description
English: Ball-and-stick model of the unit cell of the crystal structure of hydrated (i.e. normal) Prussian blue, Fe4[Fe(CN)6]3·xH2O where x = 14-16, reported in Inorg. Chem. (1980) 19, 956-959 (CSD entry 1599258, ICSD entry 23105). Actually, one fourth of the Fe(CN)6 groups shown will be missing, more or less at random. A quarter of the cyanide sites will also be replaced by water, at random. This illustration superimposes both possibilities at each site — water molecules or cyanide ions. The cyanide and water positions are disordered.
