Summary[edit]

Description

My major gripe with Mac OS is the lack of a tiling mode, especially when using multiple terminals. While iTerm does have tabs (and fullscreen, yeah), it does not (yet) support split windows. Gnu screen only has horizontally split windows, which is next to useless on todays widescreen displays.

Enter dvtm. It supports splits in both directions and can be used just like the dwm window manager. It even supports 256 colors, though it still does have some quirks.
