Nederlands: Fabrieksgebouwen van voormalige textielfabriek Florida nv, gelegen tussen de Molenaarsstraat en de Opgeëistenlaan in Gent. Vanaf het begin van de 19e eeuw is er veel bedrijvigheid tussen de Molenaarsstraat en de Opgeëistenlaan. Naast een katoendrukkerij en een spinnerij is weverij Florida er het langst actief. Na de sluiting van Florida in 1950 wordt het complex overgenomen door de Union Cotonnière die er UCO Diensten huisvest, het centrale magazijn en de technische diensten. In de jaren 1990 worden de industriële gebouwen in verschillende kleinere delen verkocht aan een tiental eigenaars en investeerders. De oudste nog resterende gebouwen dateren van midden 19e eeuw. Ze krijgen stukje bij beetje een nieuwe bestemming als lofts en kantoren. Zicht op straatje binnen de site. |
