Description
Deutsch: An der Schnittstelle zwischen historischem herzoglichen Gelände und der Altstadt, unweit des ehemaligen Schloßtores, steht frei der zweigeschoßige Traufseitbau Thal 14, heute ein Wohnhaus, dessen Entstehung auf die 2. Hälfte des 17. Jahrhunderts, also nach der Zerstörung der Stadt im 30-jährigen Krieg zurückgeht. Zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts war das Gebäude als Gefängnis (Alte Fronfeste) genutzt und war zugleich die Wohnung des Gerichtsdieners.1914 erfolgte der Umbau zum Armenhaus. Im nördlichen Teil war bis 1997 die Freibank untergebracht.
