| Description |
English: Improvements to the flood prevention argys The Environment Agency has been steadily improving the flood defences (argys) around Y Trallwng (Welshpool) and this is some of the works completed this summer. They are being lightly grazed with sheep this winter to compact the surface and prevent loose soil being washed away. The inter clay of the embankment would have been consolidated with a "sheep's foot roller" whilst it was being built. This is a mechical version that replicates the action of a sheep's foot on the soil. |
