Description

A Organização das Nações Unidas para a Educação, a Ciência e a Cultura (UNESCO no Brasil), o Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (Iphan) e a Prefeitura de Congonhas inauguraram, no dia 15 de dezembro, um dos mais importantes projetos de preservação da memória do país: o Museu de Congonhas. A instituição chega ao público com a missão de potencializar a percepção e a interpretação das múltiplas dimensões do Santuário do Bom Jesus de Matosinhos, sítio histórico que, desde 1985, tem o título de Patrimônio Cultural Mundial. A inauguração integra as comemorações dos 30 anos do título e dos 70 anos de existência da UNESCO.

Estiveram presentes na cerimônia a presidenta do Brasil, Dilma Rousseff, o ministro da Cultura, Juca Ferreira, a presidenta do Iphan, Jurema Machado, e o representante da UNESCO Lucien Muñoz, além de autoridades do poder público e a população local de Congonhas.
