Summary[edit]

Description

On 8-28-18, I saw that the ISS was going to transit the Sun over Central Georgia. I took an hour off from work and set up to capture it, and I was able to shoot 35 frames where the ISS was passing in front of the Sun.

The ISS is a little larger than an American football field, and it travels at a speed of five miles per second! It orbits the Earth every 90 minutes at a distance of 254 miles from Earth.

This image is a composite of the 35 frames where the ISS was transiting the Sun.
