| Description |
English: Mathematically an interval is just the frequency of the higher note over the lower and a sequence and/or progression is matched to a rhythmic structure, It can be thought of as a problem to be solved like an equation.
Musically, the very same numerical ratio can have different functions in different keys and contexts. This is reflected in the name and all the rather technical jargon of Music Theory. The emotions created are to be experienced, not "solved" Both Math and Music are complex and use arcane language, that is, they generally require practice and experience to be properly understood. They require some significant apprenticeship and enough interest to make the journey worth the effort. |
