Birthplace of painter and etcher James McNeill Whistler, 243 Worthen Street, Lowell, Massachusetts. The house was built in 1823; Whistler was born in 1834; and it has been the home of the Lowell Art Association since 1908. It is open as a museum. Photograph taken by me, July 2005.
