Description
Adam Levin Søbøtker (1753-1823) belonged to a Danish family of plantation owners in the Danish West Indies. Around 1776 he married Susanne van Beverhoudt (1761–1811). Juel portrayed them both, and both paintings were part of the lot at the 2004 auction.

  • Sold at Bruun Rasmussen Auctions on December 8, 2004 for DKK 500,000 (EUR 68,000), (Lot 737/2026).
