Description
Frederik Anthon Adam von der Maase (1773-1821) was a Danish cavalry officer. From 1801 he embarked on a career connected to the Danish court, starting as adjutant to Crown Prince Frederik. In 1796 he married Vilhelmine Løvenskiold (1779-1829). Jens Juel portrayed them both, and the works were sold together at the auction. The experts at Bruun Rasmussen judged the date of the paintings to around 1800.
