Description
Susanne van Beverhoudt (1761-1811) was of a Dutch West Indies family. Around 1776 she married Adam Levin Søbøtker (1753–1823), a planter and government official in the Danish West Indies. Juel portrayed them both, and both paintings were part of the lot at the 2004 auction.
