English: Walther Jockisch (1907–1970) made his doctorate in 1930 at University of Frankfurt am Main. Initially he worked as a German teacher. Due to his work at progressive Schule am Meer on the East-Frisian island Juist where he was involved in the stage play based on Shakespeare initiated by the boarding school's principal Martin Luserke (1889–1968) he later assisted Walter Felsenstein (1901–1975) and Oskar Wälterlin (1895–1961) in Frankfurt's opera house. After the end of WWII he was stage-managing in Darmstadt, Stuttgart, Kiel, Hanover, Oberhausen, Heidelberg, Bonn, Berlin, Luzern and Münster.
Deutsch: Walther Jockisch (1907–1970) promovierte 1930 an der Universität Frankfurt am Main. Zunächst war er als Deutschlehrer tätig. Aufgrund seiner Arbeit an dem reformpädagogischen Landerziehungsheim Schule am Meer auf der ostfriesischen Insel Juist, wo er an dem von Martin Luserke (1889–1968) initiierten Darstellenden Spiel nach Shakespeare beteiligt war, assistierte er später Walter Felsenstein ( 1901–1975) und Oskar Wälterlin (1895–1961) in Frankfurts Opernhaus. Nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs inszenierte er an den Bühnen in Darmstadt, Stuttgart, Kiel, Hannover, Oberhausen, Heidelberg, Bonn, Berlin, Luzern und Münster. |
