English: Called a 'Kakebeenwa' on account of its resemblance to the jawbone of an ox or horse. Used by the Voortrekkers and drawn by twelve or sixteen oxen. The Wagon on exhibition - dating from about 1820 - was used during the symbolic Ox-wagon Trek of 1938 and was known as the Dirkie Uys Wagon.
