Description
Deutsch: Karmelenberg bei Bassenheim: Gedenkstein zur Erinnerung an die Auszeichnung als Berg des Monats Juni im UNO-Jahr der Berge 2002. Wegen seiner Ähnlichkeit mit dem Berg Karmel in Israel, der Kapelle auf dem Gipfel und der 340 Jahre alten Baumallee wurde der Karmelenberg in die Kandidatur aufgenommen, obwohl er „nur“ 373 Meter und keine 500 Meter hoch ist. Gast bei der Proklamation zum „Berg des Monats in Deutschland“ am 21. Juni 2002 war unter anderem der Journalist Hans Lebrecht aus Israel. Den Stein stifteten die Lavabrüche Dr. Clement, die Inschrift brachte Dieter Heuft aus Mendig an.
