| Description |
A participant in the International Guard Track and Field Meet rushes past Marines standing on the sidelines. The following is an excerpt from a local newspaper regarding the event: "The American athletes just about made a clean sweep. The first event to be run was the 200 metre dash. The American entrants made a clean sweep of this race which produced one of the most thrilling finishes seen in local track meets for some time. Kayler, American, who was the winner, broke the tape in twenty-three seconds flat to beat the old meet record by four fifths of a second. Brockert, American, was second. Drigallo, American nosed out the British entrant, Stokes, in the last two yards of the race by virtually throwing himself across the line."
