English: Kinooni is a street that is located at Lamu old town Mkomani location, the place was named as Kinooni because people used to sharpen their knives and Pangas when going to their farms.
Lamu people have come up with a lot of myths about Kinoo such as: People seeing chicks playing at Kinoo during the mid night. Also people claim to see a big frighten snake during the mid-night This is because the place is so scaring and also dark during the day and night time. Description by Ms. Khadija Issa TwahirKiswahili: Kinooni ni njia iliyozikwa kinoo karne zilizopita ni eneo ambalo linatambulika kama eneo la kitamaduni. kinooni ni njia iliyokuwa ikitumika kwenda mashambani, watu walikitumia kinoo hicho kwa kutilia makali visu au mapanga yao. Mahali hapo ni giza sana usiku na mchana. watu wa Lamu wanaamini kuwa mahali hapo hutokea miujiza kadhaa wakati wa usiku wa manane. Mifano ya miujiza ni kama:
vifaranga kutembea mahali hapo wakati wa usiku wa manane pia watu huamini kuwa mahali hapo kuna joka lakutisha ambalo huonekana usiku pia. Maelezo ya metolewa na Bi Khadija Issa Twahir.
