Summary[edit]
DescriptionKirkdale cave - geograph.org.uk - 801851.jpg |
English: Kirkdale cave This small opening leads to an extensive cave system formed by underground streams thousands of years ago.
In the 19th Century an exploration of the cave found surprising evidence of animal remains such as zebra, antelopes and other typically African species - indicating a time when conditions were very different than today. It's thought the bones were taken inside by predators using it as a den. |
