Description

Stephan Weil, Niedersachsens Ministerpräsident, verlieh Klaus Wettig im Jahr 2017 das Verdienstkreuz 1. Klasse des Niedersächsischen Verdienstordens und händigte es ihm am 25. Oktober 2017 im Gästehaus der Niedersächsischen Landesregierung aus. An der Zeremonie nahmen unter anderen teil Inge Wettig-Danielmeier, früheres Mitglied des Deutschen Bundestages, frühere Bundesschatzmeisterin der SPD und Ehefrau des Geehrten, Gabriele Andretta, Präsidentin des Niedersächsichen Landtages, Wolfgang Jüttner, früherer Niedersächsischer Umweltminister, Dietmar Schulz, früherer Staatssekretär des Niedersächsischen Umweltministeriums, Walter Theuerkauf, früherer Landrat des Landkreises Aurich, sowie weitere Repräsentanten der niedersächsischen und der Göttinger SPD.
