Description
Deutsch: Aus dieser Steilwand westlich der Göhl und etwa 300 Meter nördlich der Rue du Village im belgischen Ort Moresnet, wurden zwei kleine Handstücke Kohlenkalk herausgeschlagen.

Ganz im Vordergrund sieht man einen Teil des Radfernwegs RAVeL 39 von Moresnet nach Bleiberg (Plombieres). Die Rue du Village in Moresnet liegt wenige hundert Meter nach rechts. Nach Bleiberg geht es nach links. Der Fluss Göhl (holländisch auch Geul) liegt wenige hundert Meter im Rücken des Betrachters.

Tatsächlich ist die hier gezeigte Kalkwand stark gefaltet. Abgelagert wurden die Kalke im frühen Karbon. Eine Faltung erfolgte dann später im Karbon im Zuge der sogenannten variszischen Gebirgsbildung (Orogenese). Das sieht man einige Fahrradminuten weiter nordwärts im Bereich eines ehemaligen Steinbruchs nahe Plombieres (Bleiberg).
