Summary[edit]

Description Guinsa Stele of Grand Patriarch Sangwol Wongak. Engraved on the stele is a summary of the Dharma talks that Grand Patriarch Sangwol Wongak gave to his followers encompassing all the sublime truths contained in the 80,000 surtras of the Buddhist Cannon. Guinsa, located near Danyang in Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea, has architecture following that of many other Buddhist temples in Korea, but is also markedly different in that the structures are several stories tall, instead of the typical one or two stories that structures found in many other Korean temples.
