Summary[edit]

Description
Zánik kostela předznamenalo odtěžení skalního masivu silurských vápenců v místech Svatoprokopské jeskyně (v roce 1887) a o tři roky později (1890) pak odstřel skály se zbytky jeskyně a s poustevnou.
English: The church of St. Prokop (in Prague in Daleje Valley) was built at the top of the limestone rocks in the Baroque style by Pavel Ignác Bayer with the financial support of Adam Schwarzenberg from 1711 to 1712. Eleven years later (1723) a part of the ship was added to the church. The last construction changes of the church took place in 170 years (1893). Destruction of the rock masses in 1890 led to situation that the church was at the edge of the limestone quarry. During the Second World War, the Germans built an underground buildings in the mined quarry areas. After the end of World War II, the Czechoslovak army took over the undergroud buildings and began to use it for military purposes. The church was included in the public inaccessible military guarded area. For reasons of broken statics (and the danger of spontaneous collapse) he was demolished in 1966.
