Palazzo Pesaro degli Orfei Musée Fortuny (Venise)

Les oeuvres présentées dans le cadre de l'exposition Intuition sont intégrées aux espaces du palais dans lequel travaillait Mario Fortuny.

Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo (1871-1949) était un styliste espagnol, créateur de tissus, photographe, peintre, décorateur de théâtre. Il fut notamment l'inventeur du célèbre plissé Fortuny, qui a transformé le vêtement féminin à la Belle Epoque. Les danseuses Isadora Duncan ou Loie Fuller comme toutes les célébrités ont porté ce type de robe.

Etabli à Venise en 1889, il a installé sa manufacture sur l'île de la Giudecca en 1919, la production de tissus et d'objets conçus par Fortuny se poursuit. Un show-room est accessible au rez-de-chaussée de la manufacture.

Le palazzo Fortuny est un établissement culturel de la ville de Venise qui organise des expositions temporaires d'art contemporain et conserve des objets, livres, archives et oeuvres d'art que Mariano Fortuny avait rassemblés dans son palais.
