Description LC-DIG-stereo-1s02829: USS Massasoit (1864-1867). On the James River, Virginia, 1864-65. Published on a stereograph card circa the 1890s by Taylor & Huntington, Hartford, Connecticut. Note small boat landing in the foreground, and guns trained out on the "double-ender" gunboat Massasoit. The original photograph is the left side of the stereograph pair. Courtesy of the Library of Congress. At NHHC as NH 100991.
