Summary[edit]

Description
English: Schematic illustration of an electrophysiological recording of membrane potential during a low-threshold spike (T-type calcium channel dependent spike), with 3 sodium channel dependent spikes crowning it. When the membrane potential reaches the voltage dependent calcium channel activation threshold (A), following a period of hyperpolarisation (downward deflection in the recording), an LTS occurs. When the LTS causes the membrane potential to pass the voltage dependent sodium channel threshold (B), a low-threshold burst consisting of 2-7 spikes can occur.
