Summary[edit]

Description
English: The elongated, dark-colored lava flow complex just left of the center of this NASA Landsat image (with north to the top) is La Negrillar. This cone and lava flow complex (also known as Aguas Perdidas) covers a roughly 16 km area along the SW margin of the Atacama basin. The basaltic-andesite volcanic field, distinct from El Negrillar (north of Socompa), lies WSW of Socompa volcano, the source of the lava flows at the far middle-right. Part of the massive debris avalanche from Socompa volcano fills the upper right part of the image.
