Description
Français : Une place avec un curieux nom.

Il faut savoir que la rue de Zurich voisine n'existait pas il y a 150 ans. C'était un grand canal (d'où les Zurichois sont venus). Le canal fut comblé en 1872 car son importance fut remise en question après la création du canal de l'Ill au Rhin et dès lors la rue naquit. En souvenir d'un petit passage vouté à côté de l'ancienne écluse, la place prit ce nom. Par contre l'origine du nom remonte à loin sans pour autant qu'on sache la raison. La fontaine des Zurichois pris aussi ses quartiers au milieu de cet espace. Elle serait la plus vieille de la ville et serait donc en l'honneur des Zurichois, venus par deux fois dans la ville de Strasbourg alliée. Le buste est celui du poète Johannes Fischart qui relata la première expédition record entre les deux villes. N'hésitez pas à cliquer sur le lien de Pokaa relatant très bien l'affaire.
