Field drain junction on Lambwath Stream just east of The Beck, on the parish boundary between Aldbrough and Withernwick. On the right of the picture in the distance is Withernwick Sewage Works, installed circa 1970 to facilitate the building of around fifty new houses in the village. There are high earth banks along the sides of the drains here as much of the surrounding farmland is less than seven metres above sea level and extremely susceptible to flooding.

An important land drain for the district, Lambwath Stream was recorded as being insufficient as early as 1367 and was earmarked for improvement under the Keyingham Level Drainage Acts of 1772. A scheme to improve the drainage of Withernwick and neighbouring parishes around Lambwath Stream was designed by William Chapman and carried out in 1812 as part of the inclosure process. Like many Holderness drains Lambwath Stream flows west into the floodplain of the River Hull although it originates at Aldbrough only a very short distance from the sea.
