Description
Deutsch: Bankgebäude; Zweiflügelanlage, dreigeschossiger neubarocker Mansarddachbau, überkuppelter Eckturm, 1902; Xylanderstraße 1, am Obertorplatz Landau in der Pfalz. Straßennamenspatron ist der General der Infanterie Oskar Ritter von Xylander (1856-1940), der u.a. von 1898 bis 1899 Bataillonskommandeur im bayerischen Infanterie-Leib-Regiment in Landau in der Pfalz war. Die Vorfahren der späteren kurfürstlich-pfälzischen Adelsfamilie Xylander wandelte Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts ihren Familiennamen Holz(Holzt)mann in Xylander (griechisch für Holzmann) um.
