Written on photo: Well no. 4, Pomona, Wash.The part of the Yakima Valley east of the Yakima River is known as the Moxee Valley. This is where most of the artesian wells in the valley were located. Pomona is located near the town of Moxee. On March 14, 1913, H.R. Linse working for the Pomona Artesian Irrigation Company struck an artesian spring of water in the fourth well drilled in the Pomona Heights area of the Yakima Valley. Water was struck at 400 feet PH Coll 1039.43
