Français : Photographie de Pierre Bernier sergent au 72ème régiment d'infanterie territorial, 1915.
Pierre Bernier est né le 15 octobre 1877 à Beaulieu-sur-Layon (Maine-et-Loire). Il effectue son service militaire au 131ème régiment d’infanterie en novembre 1898 et est libéré avec le grade de sergent en septembre 1901. A la déclaration de guerre d’août 1914, il quitte sa ferme de Beaulieu et rejoint le 72e régiment territorial d’infanterie de Cholet qui part le 11 août pour le camp retranché de Paris. En 1915, le régiment stationne dans la Somme et l’Oise, en 1916, il opère dans le secteur de Verdun et l’Aisne. En novembre 1917, Pierre Bernier quitte le 72e RIT pour le 40e RIT qui est affecté à la garde de gares dans la région de Saint-Dizier. Il est démobilisé le 7 janvier 1919. |
