| Description |
English: view of the Scheldt river and the port of Antwerp in the background, view from the MAS. The Left Bank (with windmill) used to house the American TOPHAT Military Base, which was used to house some 200.000 American GI's before they were shipped home. Nederlands: zicht op de Schelde en de haven van Antwerpen op de achtergrond. Foto genomen vanuit het MAS. Let ook op de windmolen op het Sint Annastrand. Op deze plaats was de Tophat basis van het Amerikaans leger, waar ongeveer 200.000 Amerikaanse soldaten naar huis verscheept werden na WOII. |
