Description
Deutsch: 3: Der König: »Sehet hier euern Feldherrn !«
Der König von Spanien empfängt eine Botschaft der Mauren, die ihm den Krieg ankündigt. Wer soll der Führer des spanischen Heeres sein? Der junge Rodrigo hat bereits Proben außerordentlicher Tapferkeit und hervorragender Feldherrnbegabung abgelegt. Zwar ist er wegen Tötung des Grafen Gormaz dem Henker verfallen, aber auf seines Vaters Flehen schiebt der König die Vollstreckung des Urteils auf und vertraut Rodrigo die Führung der Krieger.
