English: Lone pine tree in the mire, Cranesmoor, New Forest Looking across the mire to a sandy pine-covered 'island' in the mire complex at Cranes Moor. The occasional small Scots pine has managed to grow in the boggy area, such as the one to the left in this photo. This area is renowned for its pristine bog complex and the flora and fauna that lives in such an ecosystem. |
