Deutsch: Ansicht aus Nordwest: Teilansicht des Loog auf Juist: In der rechten Bildhälfte erkennt man die 1930/31 errichtete Theaterhalle der Schule am Meer und ganz rechts am Bildrand einen Teil des Schulhauptgebäudes Diesseits (vormals Café-Restaurant Tusculum). Das Diesseits bestand aus dem rechts ersichtlichen massiven Gebäude mit Walmdach, in dem z. B. das Lehrer-Ehepaar Aeschlimann wohnte, und einem nach Osten gerichteten Anbau, der den Schülern, Lehrern und sonstigen Mitarbeitern als Speisesaal diente. Gleichzeitig wurde dieser bis zur Eröffnung der Theaterhalle im Mai 1931 als Proben- und Aufführungssaal (Chor, Orchester, Laienspiel) genutzt. Etwa in der Bildmitte erkennt man zwei Gebäude. Das kleinere (weiter östlich liegende) der beiden ist das Neufundland, in dem die jüngsten Schüler (ab 10 Jahre) des reformpädagogischen Landerziehungsheims untergebracht waren. Auf dem Foto links hinten (in östlicher Richtung) erkennt man das Dorf Juist.
English: Northwesterly partial view of the Loog area on the East Frisian German island Juist, Prussia. On the right half of the picture the large building represents the theater hall of Schule am Meer (= School near the sea), a reform boarding school. This stage hall was unique as no other German school had and has a separate building for that matter. |
