Lot-9438-23: Honored for “Extraordinary Heroism” For “extraordinary heroism” in action with U.S. forces on Luzon Island in the Philippines, Brigadier General Albert M. Jones has received the U.S. Army’s Distinguished Service Cross. Office of War Information Photograph, February 7-16, 1942. (2016/01/08). Citation: Brigadier General Albert Monmouth Jones (ASN: 0-3186), United States Army, was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy, as Commanding General, I Philippine Corps, in action against enemy forces from 24 December 1941 to 1 January 1942. Brigadier General Jones' intrepid actions, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army. |
