Description
English: Portrait of Louis Frédéric Eugène Decazes, chief administrator of the colonies. He is the son of Bernard Théodore Decazes, vice-consul of France in Porto Alegre (Brazil) and Clémence Monique Penabert. His parents were married in Porto Alegre on October 23, 1842. Eugène Decazes was born on January 31, 1844 in Porto Alegre (Brazil) and died on July 12, 1913 in Paris in the 5th arrondissement at the Val-de-Grâce hospital. Resident at Bastia (Corsica) with his wife, Marie Marguerite Hélène Claire Souvré. Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1885, then Officer of the Legion of Honor in 1904. His uncle is is Georges Jean Penabert, photographer in Paris (France) and New York (United States) and who is the author of this portrait.

Eugène Decazes est né le 31 janvier 1844 à Porto Alegre (Brésil) et mort le 12 juillet 1913 à Paris dans le 5ème arrondissement à l'hôpital du Val-de-Grâce. Domicilié à Bastia (Corse) avec son épouse, Marie Marguerite Hélène Claire Souvré. Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur en 1885, puis Officier de la Légion d'Honneur en 1904.
