Description |
Chapiteau décoré, sur trois faces, de deux aigles aux ailes déployées, de deux quadrupèdes s'entredévorant la queue et d'un motif de vannerie Provenant des parties orientales de l'ancienne église abbatiale bénédictine Saint-Pierre de Flavigny (Côte d'or), reconstruites au IXe siècle. Elles comportaient, au delà du choeur, une crypte surmontée d'une chapelle appelée Notre-Dame-des-Piliers en raison de ses nombreuses colonnes. Outre les oeuvres du Louvre, le dépôt lapidaire de l'abbaye conserve encore une cinquantaine de chapiteaux ayant appartenu à ces constructions. Pierre Acquis en 1891 |
