Summary[edit]

Description

Lower Manhattan and the East River from the Promenade in Brooklyn Heights. 60 Wall Tower (now American International Building) is the tallest building, in the center. Metropolitan Life (Met Life) Tower is just to the left. The Singer Building is the relatively low building with ornate top at right center, to the right of a modern tower block (which may be the Chase Manhattan Building).

Singer Tower was the tallest building in the world when it was built in 1908, but gave that title up to the Met Life Tower in 1909. Singer Tower was demolished in 1968.

Warehouses for docks on the Brooklyn side of the East River are in the foreground.
